Elevador da Glória
17 may — 31 december 2024
Curator: Helena Mendes Pereira
The Norlinda and José Lima collection was started in Portugal in 1980 by José Lima and has maintained, from its inception to the present day, a continuous regime of acquisitions, attentive to national artistic production, punctuating it with works by international artists. Over the years, the collection has grown to become one of the most important art centers in the country.
Elevador da Glória brings together works by thirty younger Portuguese artists born after 1974, with a strong emphasis on those born in the 1970s and 1980s. In this sense, more recent works from the collection, many of which are not on display at the CAO, are now being exhibited as part of this project.
