Pois EU é um outro: Obras da Coleção Norlinda e José Lima [For I is another: Works from the Norlinda and José Lima Collection]
26 may — 28 october 2018
Curator: Miguel Amado
Production: Centro de Artes de Águeda
‘This exhibition features works by Portuguese and foreign artists in the collection gathered by businessman José Lima, who was born in Águeda and settled in São João da Madeira. The artworks deal with social issues and their themes enunciate political and historical approaches that produce world visions that afford an understanding of the multiple realities of everyday life. The title of the exhibition quotes Jean-Nicolas-Arthur Rimbaud’s formula, ‘car Je est un autre [for I is another]’, which translates the complexities of the societies that the works on show enunciate, directly or metaphorically, at the visual, intellectual, emotional and spiritual level’.
