The selection does not intend to represent a collection which is made of over one thousand works; it rather attempts to offer a vision of the collection in the diversity of media, scales, themes and trends that guided some of the collector\u2019s choice spanning a historical arc from the 1950s (with a work by Maria Helena Vieira da Silva) to more recent works by Carlos Correia or Jo\u00e3o Onofre. To show this collection is a continuous, ongoing construction process because it keeps growing through regular acquisitions, like a <em>work in progress<\/em>, and, at the hands of every guest curator, each exhibition is an additional contribution to illuminate the premises that the collector considers to be more relevant, i.e., the work of national and foreign artists from different generations. The collection features nuclei of works and artists that offer historical perspectives on Portuguese art and the ever-present, pertinent issues of its transformation and development in recent periods, over more than five decades, not only in its diversity but in its range, which translates into a collection with a museologic scale and dimension\u2019. He is associate curator of the contemporary art collection of PLMJ Foundation, and curator and tutor of the RAMA Art Residencies, Maceira, Portugal. He began is activity as an independent curator in 2003. In October 2007. He created the independent project EMPTY CUBE, which has featured work of various artists, designers and architects. He was the president of the Portuguese section of AICA \u2013 International Association of Art Critics from March 2013 to December 2015.
