Renato Ferrão: Für Fur Fur Fúria de Viver
26 january — 7 april 2024
Curator: Andreia Magalhães
Throughout his artistic career Renato Ferrão has worked in the broad field of sculpture. Until 2010, a significant proportion of his sculptures were everyday objects, suspended by elastic bands and extension cables, exploring tension phenomena that defy the laws of gravity and interact with the exhibition space. Over recent years, his work has extended to the fields of image reproduction and projection, created from projectors he builds with lenses and mechanical and electronic systems. The exhibition at the Centro de Arte Oliva is his most extensive exhibition to date, offering a comprehensive overview of his oeuvre. It presents key projects from his career, some of which have been reconstructed and reassembled for this exhibition space, together with new works, including the narrative installation, Fúria de Viver (Thirst for Life).
