Presente Contínuo: Aquisições recentes da coleção Norlinda e José Lima [Present Continuous: Recent acquisitions in the Norlinda and José Lima Collection]
31 july — 6 september 2020
Curator: Andreia Magalhães
The Norlinda and José Lima Collection was started over forty years ago. It is one of the most significant and encompassing collections in Portugal. The collection is hosted at Oliva Art Centre, which has been studying, preserving and showing the artworks to the public. Among the numerous singularities of this collection are the continuous focus and indefatigable action to seek out, acknowledge and value the work of contemporary artists. This exhibition reveals a selection of works incorporated into the collection in the last three years (2017-2020) and which have never been shown at Oliva. The featured works, from younger to more renowned artists (national and international) reveal a constant, topical attention to the artistic present, whose proposals are always multiple, challenging and complex.
