The Première exhibition presents works by twenty-one artists completing bachelor’s and master’s degrees from eight higher schools of artistic education in Portugal and France, namely the Faculties of Fine Arts of Porto and Lisbon, the Escola Superior de Artes e Design de Caldas da Rainha, from the Escola Superior Artística do Porto, from the higher artistic schools of l’École Européenne Supérieure de l’Image de Angoulême-Poitiers, les Écoles Nationales Supérieures d’Art de Bourges et Limoges, l’École Supérieure d’Art de Clermont- Metropolis.

Première is an original curatorial project by the Center d’Art Contemporain in Meymac (France) which has carried out 28 editions. In this edition, which took place within the scope of the Portugal-France Cross Season in 2022, its scope was extended to Portuguese schools and artists and the Oliva Art Center.

The co-curatorship of this international edition is carried out by Caroline Bissière & Jean-Paul Blanchet and Andreia Magalhães. The exhibition was presented, initially, from October 30, 2022 to January 15, 2023 in France, and secondly, from April 15 to June 18, 2023, at Centro de Arte Oliva, S. João da Madeira , Portugal.
