Celebrating its fourth year of activity, Espaço João Espregueira Mendes (EJEM), at the Museu Futebol Clube do Porto, marks the debut of the important Norlinda and José Lima collection in the city of Porto. ‘Humano, ainda demasiado humano’ is an unprecedented opportunity to contact international authors based on works of contemporary art selected for EJEM by Miguel von Hafe Pérez, curator of this temporary exhibition room. ‘Human, still too human’ brings together works in painting, photography, drawing and sculpture by Antón Patiño, Carlos Correia, Francisco Vidal, Gaëtan, Harmen de Hoop, João Gabriel, Julião Sarmento, Noé Sendas, Rita Barros, Rui Serra, Vanessa Beecroft , Vicente de Mello and William Wegman. The Norlinda and José Lima international contemporary art collection is one of the most important privately owned collections in Portugal and is the result of José Lima’s perseverance, always lovingly supported by his wife Norlinda, in building a collection where the right choices unequivocally justify , the relevance that is recognized.

Stored in storage at the Centro de Arte Oliva in São João da Madeira, this collection is presented for the first time in Porto with the temporary exhibition ‘Humano, demasiado humano’, at Espaço João Espregueira Mendes.
