The exhibition features fifty-five works selected from the Treger/Saint Silvestre Collection, one of the most significant collections of art brut/outsider art in Europe. Acordar, sair, caminhar. Desacelerar… olhar, parar. Olhar de novo. Obras da Coleção Treger Saint Silvestre proposes a reflection on different forms of seeing living and interpreting the city. According to curator Antonia Gaeta these works, ‘represent a complex set subjected to a certain idea of space organization, certain rules, prohibitions, duties and responsibilities, which also allow for their contrary by revealing some nonchalance and humour in the dynamics of the urban, as well as the fantastical, the grotesque, the laborious’. These buildings, maps and panoramas of the city invite the viewer to ‘travel between invention and utopia, in which the everyday becomes a pretext to imagine different life spaces and/or escapist spatial approaches to the everyday’. Antonia Gaeta (Itália, 1978) é Licenciada em Conservação dos Bens Culturais pela Universidade de Bolonha. Mestre em Estudos Curatoriais pela Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa e Doutorada em Arte Contemporânea no Colégio das Artes da Universidade de Coimbra. Desenvolveu projetos de investigação e exposição com diversas instituições artísticas em Portugal e no estrangeiro e tem textos publicados em catálogos de arte, revistas especializadas e programas de exposições. Foi coordenadora executiva das representações oficiais portuguesas nas Bienais de Arte de Veneza (edições 2009 e 2011) e de São Paulo (edições 2008 e 2010) para a Direção-Geral das Artes. Em 2015, foi curadora adjunta do Pavilhão de Angola na 56ª Bienal de Veneza. Desde 2015 desenvolve projetos curatoriais para a coleção de arte bruta Treger/Saint Silvestre.
