25 de Abril de 1974, Quinta-feira. Fotografias de Alfredo Cunha.
20 april — 16 june 2024
Curator: Aníbal Lemos
The exhibition is part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of April 25, 1974. On April 25, 1974, Alfredo Cunha was in Lisbon and photographed the revolution in its main scenes, capturing images that are still associated with the event that changed Portugal’s history. To celebrate 50 years of democracy, he created a book based on his images, in three parts: War – with a text by Carlos Matos Gomes, a military man from April and the colonial war; April 25 – with a text by Adelino Gomes, a reporter who followed the events in Lisbon; After April – with a text by Fernando Rosas, historian and protagonist of these hot years. Based on this book and images, the exhibition held at the Centro de Arte Oliva, in partnership with the Centro de Arte de S. João da Madeira, was organized.
